Download TikTok Video with Sound
Paste a public TikTok link and save the video as an MP4 with its sound. Free, no sign-up.
- Free to use
- No sign-up
- MP3 or MP4
- Works on any device
Paste the link of a public TikTok video, press the button, and you get the video as an MP4 file with its sound. That is the tool above. If all you want is the sound, the TikTok to MP3 converter does that in the same way, and it produces a much smaller file. This page is for people who want the picture as well.
How to download a TikTok video with sound
- In TikTok, open the video, tap Share, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.
- Paste it into the box at the top of this page.
- Press Download Video and wait a few seconds. A card shows the cover picture, the title and the creator.
- Press Download MP4. The file goes to your Downloads folder, or to the Files app on an iPhone.
The video plays with its original sound, so you do not need to add anything afterwards.

What to expect from the file
You get the version TikTok itself streams to viewers, saved as one MP4 file. Its quality is whatever the creator uploaded and TikTok processed, so a clip filmed in low light will not look better here than it does in the app. We do not re-encode or compress the file, which means nothing is lost on our side and the download is only as slow as your connection.
Length matters for size. A fifteen second clip is usually a couple of megabytes, while a three minute video can be tens of megabytes. Downloads larger than 150 MB are refused, which in practice only affects very long uploads.
When a download will not work
Some videos cannot be fetched, and it is better to know why before you try again.
- The video is private, deleted or limited to followers. Only public videos work.
- The creator has turned downloads off. TikTok lets creators choose, and some pull the video from public view when they do. We cannot get around a setting that removes access.
- The link is cut short. A link missing its last characters points nowhere. Copy it again with the Share button.
- TikTok changed something. This happens now and then. The tool may fail for a day, and then work again once we have adapted.
If a video simply fails, try the audio converter. The sound is often reachable even when the picture is not.
Video or audio: which one do you need?
It helps to think about what you will do with the file.
- Rewatching offline. You need the video.
- Editing with the clip. The video gives you picture and sound together. If you only need the sound as a track, the MP3 is lighter and easier to handle.
- Listening. A song, a voice-over or a recipe you play while cooking works better as audio, because it plays with the screen off.
- Keeping it findable. You may not need a file at all. TikTok's Favourites and Collections keep videos in one place, and they stay synced across devices.
Use it with respect for the creator
A video belongs to the person who made it, and the music in it usually belongs to someone else again. Saving a clip for yourself to watch is one thing. Posting it elsewhere, or using it in an advert, is another, and it needs permission. Keep the creator's name with the file so you can credit them if you share it with their approval. Our Terms of Use and DMCA page explain what we expect from visitors and how rights holders can reach us.
Saving a video the official way
TikTok has its own Save video option in the Share menu. It appears when the creator allows saving, and the file goes straight to your gallery. If the option is missing, the creator has switched it off for that video. It can change after posting, so a video that offered saving yesterday may not offer it today.
Photos and slideshows
A photo post is not a video, so it has no MP4 to download. Pictures may be saved one by one from the post menu, and the music underneath usually stays inside TikTok. If the song is what you want, read the sound name at the bottom of the post, or try the audio from a link page.
Mistakes worth avoiding
Do not rename a video file to .mp3 and expect it to play as audio, because the contents are still video. Do not trust a site that promises a one-click file but asks you to install something first. Never give a download site your TikTok password. A real converter only needs a link.
Common situations
A student wanted a thirty second science explainer to watch on a train with no signal, so she saved it as a video before leaving. A cook saved a pasta clip to follow along with, because she needed the pictures as well as the voice. A musician, on the other hand, only wanted the hook of a sound and used the MP3 tool instead. The right file depends on the job, and it costs nothing to try the other one.

Frequently asked questions
Does this page download the video itself?
Yes. Paste a public TikTok link and it gives you an MP4 file with sound. The audio-only tool is on the TikTok to MP3 page.
Why did my video download fail?
The video may be private or deleted, the creator may have disabled downloads, or the link was cut short. Copy the link again with the Share button.
Is there a size limit for video downloads?
Files larger than 150 MB are refused. Most TikTok videos are far smaller.
Is it safe to give a download site my TikTok password?
No. A genuine converter only needs a link, never your login.
